Technical Author, Hertfordshire/From home (1385)

£35k - £45k + bonus + benefits

Job Details

If you’re looking for a linear, out of the box technical writing role, then it’s probably not worth reading on.

If however you’re looking for a cool technical author role where writing is just one string to your bow, and tinkering with code and creating interactive developer content floats your boat, then stick with us.

Our awesome gaming technology client boasts some of the most well-known and sought after technology giants in the world amongst their customers, and there’s a huge chance you’re looking at their products and designs in action right this second.

They’re on the hunt for an enthusiastic technical author to join their small, friendly, and supportive documentation team. As part of this exciting role, you’ll write and create user guides, videos, presentations and marketing material for some of the most cutting-edge gaming technology out there.

Writing is just one part of what you’ll get up to in this diverse role. You’ll also get involved with the company’s social media, and work on deploying the documentation in a dedicated developer portal – a great opportunity to flex your coding muscles!

So what do you need to have/be?

  • Experience of producing technical documentation, ideally for a software company.
  • Experience and/or an interest in 3D graphics, video gaming and the technology behind how it works.
  • Capable of understanding, presenting, and communicating complex ideas to a very high written standard.
  • Comfortable with coding in Python, Ruby, C#/C/C++ or similar.
  • At ease when speaking to people at all business and technical levels.
  • Cheerful, enthusiastic and not afraid to share your ideas.

In exchange for the above, on offer is a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 p.a. (depending on experience) + a generous bonus + a host of attractive benefits. During the Covid-19 pandemic, you will work remotely with a view to partial office-based work from April 2021. The office is within a short walk of a mainline train station and has parking.
